Request for endorsement of a ‘Statement on the Heightened Threat of Nuclear Disaster as a Consequence of the Russian Federation’s War against Ukraine’

Thank you to those of you who joined our parallel event organized by the National Council of Women of Ukraine on the last day of the CSW 66 to express your solidarity with us and to listen to our concerns and stories of fear, loss and pain as well as the remarkable resilience and courage of our people. 

At that meeting the concern of the heightened threat of a nuclear disaster due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine was discussed and it was agreed that a statement be written to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Association and UN and other leaders to raise this critical issue.

Following up on that meeting, we as Ukrainian women are asking you to show your solidarity with us once more by endorsing our statement in which we have set out our concerns regarding the threat of a nuclear accident among the nuclear sites in Ukraine, which include the largest nuclear plant in Europe.

Запит про схвалення «Заяви про підвищену загрозу ядерної катастрофи як наслідок війни Російської Федерації проти України»

Дякуємо тим із вас, хто приєднався до нашого паралельного заходу, організованого Національною радою жінок України в останній день CSW 66, щоб висловити свою солідарність з нами та вислухати наші занепокоєння та історії страху, втрати та болю. як неабияку стійкість і мужність нашого народу.

На цій зустрічі було обговорено занепокоєння підвищеною загрозою ядерної катастрофи через триваючий конфлікт в Україні та було погоджено написати заяву до Генерального директора Міжнародної асоціації з атомної енергії та ООН та інших лідерів, щоб підняти цю критичну ситуацію. проблема.

Після цієї зустрічі ми як українські жінки просимо вас ще раз проявити свою солідарність з нами, підтримавши нашу заяву, в якій ми висловили занепокоєння щодо загрози ядерної аварії серед ядерних об’єктів в Україні, зокрема найбільша АЕС у Європі.
